My First Post-The Day in Sports 1

So, here is what is going on in the day of sports. It is August 3, and here is a list of a few things happening today.
  • Football starts up again! Yea! well, kind of. The Dallas Cowboys play in the Hall of Fame game against the Arizona Cardinals. The teams feature. in my opinion, two top 3 running backs in the league, but neither will be playing. So, hey its football, even if it is extremely pointless.
  • In other Football news, Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill badly injured his leg, and is getting an MRI done, and it could be serious. Two things. First off, Ryan Tannehill is the definition of mediocrity. He isn't bad, and certainly better than many, but he isn't going to get you further than a potential wild card berth, and that is on a great year. Miami should really be looking at another option next year anyway. Secondly, rumors are swirling around that Colin Kaepernick is being floated as a potential short term replacement. Don't believe them. This was a man that said Fidel Castro is just misunderstood, and that isn't going to fly in Miami, Flordia. It won't happen. The Dolphins should just work with Matt Moore, and see what happens with Tannehill. But they should move on next year.
  • It's Tom Brady's 40th Birthday! Yea! If he would just retire today it would really be a great day.
  • The Kyrie Irving Saga continues, as Denver said they would not part ways with Gary Harris and Jamal Murray. What does this say to Irving and the Cavs? He is not as valuable as he thinks, and they will not be able to come close to even Boston if he leaves because they are going to get anything close to what they are hoping for in return for Irving. Look, Gary Harris and Jamal Murray are fine players with some pretty good potential, but they aren't win right now players, and maybe Cleveland should realize that they are not going to be in position to beat Golden State next season, and Lebron is all but gone. It may be time to move on.
That's pretty much a wrap for today, but I want to touch on one thing. Kaepernick has ok talent for a backup job in the NFL, but he comes with a lot of baggage and a lot of distraction. This is not the same football player that led a slightly above average 49ers team to a Super Bowl berth. He is a distraction that won one game last season. Most teams don't think a backup is worth that. I doubt he gets a job, unless something happens like in Miami but not Miami, because he does have starter experience. If he goes anywhere, look for somewhere like the Colts, where Luck could be out for an extended period but their backup situation is a mess.
